dc in rnds.:
Each rnd begins with 2 ch to replace 1 dc and ends with 1 sl st in th 2nd of the beg dc in the same rnd
Tension: 7 dc x 7,5 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm
Instructions:
Tip: work the ball from the inside
Basket: side length approx. 21 cm, height approx. 15 cm
Beg with the bottom of the basket: make a magic ring or loop
Rnd 1: work 4 dc into the loop (these 4 sts create the 4 corners of the basket) and end rnd with 1 sl st in the first dc.
Rnd 2: work 2 ch (replaces 1st dc), 2 dc into the 1st dc of the previous rnd, 3 dc in each of the foll dc (= 3 dc into same st) (= 2 dc + 11 dc). End the rnd with 1 sl st in the 2nd dc of the rnd)
Rnd 3: work 2 ch (as developed replaces 1st dc), 3 dc into the 1st st of the previous rnd, * 2 dc (1 each in the next 2 dc of previous rnd), 3 dc in the next dc of the previous rnd. Cont from * twice then 1 dc in the 11th dc. End the rnd with 1 sl st in the 2nd ch. (= 2 ch + 19 dc)
Cont working dc in rnds with the established increases. Each rnd will have an additional 8 sts.
Rnd 4: = 28 sts
Rnd 5: = 36 sts
Rnd 6: = 44 sts
Rnd 7: = 52 sts
Rnd 8: = 60 sts (4 x 14 sts on each side plus 4 x 1 dc in each corner)
Rnd 9: work all dcs through the back loop
Rnds 10 - 16: work rnds in dc without increases
Rnd 17: work two handles on opposite sides: 2 ch, 6 dc, 1 dc (as corner st), 5 dc, 4 ch, sk 4, 5 dc, 1 dc (as corner st), 14 dc, 1 dc (as corner st), 5 dc, 4 ch, sk 4, 5 dc, 1 dc (as corner st), 7 dc. End with 1 sl st as established.
Rnd 18: work rnd in dc without increases working 1 dc into each ch.
Rnd 19: 1 turn ch, then work rnd in sl sts and end rnd with 1 sl st into the 1st sl st to close.
Basket: Side length approx. 16 (11) cm, height approx. 10 (14) cm:
work as established above to 6th (4th) rnd (= 44 (28) dc), cont. without increases.
Rnd 7 (5): work dcs through the back loop
Rnds 8 - 11 (6 - 15): work in dc
Rnd 12: (only for the 16 cm basket) work two handles on opposite sides: 2 ch, 4 dc, 1 dc (as corner st), 3 dc, 4 ch, sk 4, 3 dc, 1 dc (as corner st), 10 dc, 1 dc (as corner st), 3 dc, 4 ch, sk 4, 3 dc, 1 dc (as corner st), 5 dc. End with 1 sl st as established.
Rnd 13: (only for the 16 cm basket) work rnd in dc without increases working 1 dc into each ch.
Rnd 14 (16): 1 turn ch, then work rnd in sl sts and end rnd with 1 sl st into the 1st sl st to close.
