Pattern:
Stockinette stitch: RS rows: knit; WS rows: purl.
Garter stitch: knit every row (RS and WS).
Mesh pattern: (Sleeves, amount of stitches multiple of 3 plus 2 selvedge sts)
RS and WS rows: 1 selvedge st, * k1, 1 yo, skp (= sl 1, k1, psso), rep from * to end then 1 selvedge st.
Garter st selvedge: k tbl first st in row and sl last st p-wise wyif.
Tension:
22 stitches and 31 rows to 10 cm meas over stockinette stitch.
23 stitches and 31 rows to 10 cm meas over mesh patt. using size 3,5mm needles or size needed to achieve given tension.
Instructions: (Changes for larger size in brackets. If only one number is shown this applies to both sizes)
Back:
Cast on 117 [125] sts (including selvedge sts). Beg with a WS row, work 7cm (= 23 rows).
5 rows in garter st
6 rows stockinette st
4 rows garter st
6 rows stockinette st
2 rows garter st
Then finish work in stockinette st.
AT THE SAME TIME work the side shaping on both sides in every 14th row M1 (at beg and end of each row next to the selvedge st k1tbl by placing the needle into the horizontal strand between the last st worked and the first st on the left needle.) 11 times. (= 139 [147] sts). When work meas total 56 [58] cm (= 173 [179] rows) start the shoulder shaping in the next RS row. At the beg of the next rows cast off 2 sts 4 [2] times and 3 sts 10 [12] times.
Then over the rem 63 [67] sts k the last RS row.
Next row: k all sts.
Next row: cast off all sts k-wise
Front:
Work as for Back.
Sleeves:
Cast on 50 [56] st (including selvedge sts). Beg with a WS row, work 3 rows stockinette. Then cont. sleeve in mesh patt. For the sleeve shaping inc 1 st on each side in every 8th row 12 times (= 74 [80] sts. Work until sleeve meas total of 35 [37] cm (= 109 [115] rows) ending with a WS row.
Next row (RS): cast off all sts k-wise working the yo as k1tbl.
Work 2nd sleeve the same.
Finishing:
Sew the shoulder seams together. Sew in sleeves and close the sleeve and side seams. Weave in ends.
