Size:
Women’s EU size 36/38 [40/42]
Usage:
approx. 700 g (800 g) in col. 04 (speckled cream)
Needles:
1 pair of circular needles in size 7,0 - 8,0mm, length 80 cm
1 pair of circular needles in size 7,0 - 8,0mm, length 60 cm
1 pair of circular needles in size 7,0 - 8,0mm, length 40 cm or 1 set of double pointed needles (dpns) in size 7,0 - 8,0mm
For the neckband: 1 pair of circular needles in size 6,0 - 7,0mm, length 40 cm or 1 set of double pointed needles (dpns) in size 6,0 - 7,0mm.
Or size needed to achieve given tension.
Pattern:
Ribbing: (amount of sts multiple of 2 + 1)
WS rows: 1 selvedge st, alt k1, p1 and end row with k1, selvedge st.
RS rows: k all sts between selvedge sts.
Textured stitch pattern with brioche in rows: (amount of sts multiple of 2 + 1)
Selvedge st, alt 1 garter st (k in RS and WS rows) and 1 brioche st ( = RS rows sl 1 p-wise with yo and in WS rows p these sts tog (sl st and yo as p2tog) to last 2 sts in row then 1 garter st, 1 selvedge st.
Textured stitch pattern with brioche in rnds: (amount of sts multiple of 2)
Rnd 1: alt p1 (1 garter st) and 1 brioche st ( = k the st with the yo tog (k2tog)
Rnd 2: alt k1 (1 garter st) and 1 brioche st ( = sl 1 k-wise with yo)
Rep these 2 rnds cont.
Raglan shaping:
Before the 5 marked raglan sts:
Work in pattern up to the 3 sts before the marked sts (raglan sts), s2kp2 (= 2 sts dec). Work the sts in the next rnd over the dec in patt as garter sts (p in rnd 1, k in rnd 2) and cont to work the st as a garter st.
After the 5 marked raglan sts:
Work the 5 raglan sts in patt, then work the next 3 sts: sl 1, switch next 2 sts on the needle in such a way that the garter st in the back of the knitting pattern and the brioche st lays on top, then place the first st back onto the left needle and k3tog (= 2 st dec). Work the st in the foll rnds over the dec in patt as a garter st.
Garter st selvedge: k tbl first st in row and sl last st p-wise wyif.
Tension:
14 sts and 22 rows to 10 cm meas slightly stretched over ribbing using size 7mm needles or size needed to achieve given tension.
13 sts and 26 rows/rnds meas over textured stitch pattern with brioche using size 7mm needles or size needed to achieve given tension.
Instructions: (Changes for larger size in brackets. If only one number is shown this applies to both sizes)
Back:
Cast on 67 [73] sts (including 2 selvedge sts) and beg with a WS row, work 6 cm (= 13 rows) in ribbing. Then cont work in textured st patt with brioche in rows until work meas from beg of textured patt 49 [51] cm (= row 127 [133]) ending with a RS row, place all sts onto holder.
Front:
Work as for back.
Sleeves:
Cast on 33 [37] sts (including 2 selvedge sts) and beg with a WS row, work 6 cm (= 13 rows) in ribbing. Then cont work in textured st patt with brioche in rows. For the side sleeve shaping in every 10th row inc 1 st on both sides 8 times (= selvedge st, M1 (insert left needle from front to back under horizontal strand between st just worked and next st on left needle, k this strand tbl), work to last st then M1, selvedge st.) (= 49 [53]sts). Work the new sts into established patt. When work meas 39 [40] cm from beg of structure patt ending with a RS row, place all sts onto holder.
Work 2nd sleeve alike but do not cut working yarn.
Finishing:
Using the working yarn from the 2nd sleeve, work across the sts of the front, 1st sleeve and back and place all sts onto one circular needle and close rnd (= 232 [252] sts). Cont in structure patt as established and work the adjacent selvedge sts tog (k2tog) (= 228 [248] sts). Work the 1st rnd with k1 over the knit tog selvedge sts. End the rnd with the ktog st (previous selvedge sts) between the 2nd sleeve and the front. Place marker on next st to start the new rnd. Place markers at the previous selvedge sts and the 3 sts before and 3 sts after as the 5 raglan sts. Cont the textured patt also over these 5 sts. For the raglan shaping starting with the next rnd and then in every foll 6th rnd dec 16 sts (as described in patt) 9 [10] times (= 68 [72] sts). Switch to smaller circular needles, dpns or 3 circular needles as needed. The raglan shaping is complete when work meas in rnds 22 [24] cm (= rnd 57 [63]). Next rnd: cast off all sts k-wise (on the tight side so the neckline doesn’t stretch out).
Using the smaller needles, with right sides facing, pick up evenly along the cast-off edge 68 [72] sts for the stand collar. Close rnd. In the 1st rnd k the sts over the brioche sts and p the sts over the garter sts then cont in rnds in textured pattern with brioche in rnds. When collar is 5 cm (= 18 rnds) high, work 1 rnd of p sts (turn rnd), then cont. for 5 cm (= 18 rnds) in stockinette (k all sts in all rnds). Then cast off all sts k-wise. Fold the collar to the inside along the turn and sew the cast-off edge to the inside of the neckline. Weave in ends.
