Hat: Head circumference 54 cm - 58 cm
Loop: Height approx. 22 cm, circumference approx. 130 cm
Required amounts:
Hat: approx. 100 g col. 08 (lilac blend)
Loop: approx. 200 g col. 08 (lilac blend)
Needle thickness: Circular needle 7.0 – 8.0
Pattern: (number of stitches divisible by 2)
1st – 4th r: alternately k 1 st ri, 1 st le between the est
5th r: always k tog. 2 st ri between the est
6th r: est, * 1 st ri, 1 yo, from * rep. continually, est
7th r: k st between the ri est, cross k the yo ri
Continually rep. the 1st – 7th r
Tension samples: (Relief pattern)
17 st x 19 r = 10 cm x 10 cm
Pattern:
Hat:
The hat is knit in open rsr and wsr. Cast on 68 st and 2 est and k 28 cm (= 53 r) in relief pattern. Then work as follows for the decreases:
54th r: always k tog. 2 st ri between the est (= 36 st)
55th r: k st between the le est
56th r: always k tog. 2 st (incl. est) ri (= 18 st)
Pull together the remaining 18 st with the working yarn. Close the back seam as flat as possible ensuring that the seam is on the outside for the bottom approx. 7 cm and is therefore not visible when the edge of the hat is yarned over. Make a pompom (approx. 9 cm) and sew onto the hat.
Loop:
Cast on 38 st plus 2 est and k 130 cm (= 252 r) in relief pattern. Then c off the st straight, in the process continuing the relief pattern. Close the cast-on and cast-off edges as flat as possible.
