Usage: for all sizes approx. 400 g in col. 05 (plum, orchid, powder pink, pigeon blue)
Needles: 1 pair of circular needles in size 3,5 - 4,5mm or size needed to achieve given tension.
Pattern:
Garter stitch: knit every row (RS and WS).
Double selvedge sts: k2 at beg of row and sl2 p-wise wyif at end of row
Garter st selvedge: sl first st in row k-wise and k last st.
Tension:
23 stitches and 38 rows to 10 cm meas over garter st patt using size 4mm needles or size needed to achieve given tension.
Instructions: (Changes for larger size in brackets. If only one number is shown this applies to both sizes)
Back:
Cast on 122 [130 - 140] sts (including 4 selvedge sts) making sure to pull the yarn from the centre of the ball. Work in garter st with double selvedge sts and 1st row a WS row.
Work even for 10 cm (= 38 rows) then, on each edge over the double selvedge sts k2tog and cont using the garter st selvedge with only 1 selvedge st per edge. (= 120 [128 - 138] sts)
When work meas total of 30 [31 - 32] cm (= row 113 [117 - 121]) work the sleeve cap. On both sides in alt foll row inc (cast on new sts) 1 st 7 [8 - 8] times and 2 sts twice (= 142 [152 - 162] sts). Work even until work meas total of 50 [52 - 54] cm (= 189 [197 - 205] rows) then work on each edge 2 selvedge sts and inc one st on each edge at beg of row after the selvedge and at end of row before the selvedge st. Work the shoulder shaping AT THE SAME TIME.
Next row: double selvedge sts, skp, work to last 4 sts then k2tog, double selvedge sts.
Cont. these decs in every foll row 35 [39 - 43] times more. (= 70 [72 - 74] sts)
When work meas total of 60 [63 - 66] cm (= 227 [239 - 249] rows) end with a WS row.
Next row: cast off all sts k-wise for the boat neckline.
Front:
Work as for back, making sure to start work at the same col as for the back.
Sleeves: (work 2 alike)
Close shoulder seams 2 cm as marked with * on schematics.
Pick up evenly along the sleeve placement line of front and back pieces (as shown in schematics) 70 [74 - 80] sts (including 2 selvedge sts) and work in garter st patt with garter st selvedge (1 selvedge st per edge). Beg with a WS row work 15 rows even.
Next row: dec 1 st each side (selvedge st, k2tog, k to last 3 sts, k2tog, selvedge st)
Work these decs in every foll 16th row 4 times more (= 60 [64 - 70] sts). When work meas total of 25 [27 - 28] cm (= 95 [103 - 107] rows) cast off all sts k-wise.
Finishing:
Close side and sleeve seams. Weave in ends.
Tip: the shoulder seams can also be sewn closed if you prefer.
