Knitting pattern:
Hat:
The hat is knitted from bottom to top, open in right- and wrong-side rows. Cast on 50 st plus 2 est, start with a WSR and knit 5 cm (= 8 r) in cuff pattern. Continue in basic pattern. After a total length of 21 cm (= 32 r) decrease as follows:
33rd r: k tog the 5th, 6th, and 7th st (including est), and every further 8th, 9th and 10th st, knit the remaining st according to the pattern = 42 st
37th r: p tog the 4th, 5th, and 6th st and every further 6th, 7th and 8th st = 32 st
39th r: k tog the 3rd, 4th, and 5th st and every further 4th, 5th and 6th st = 22 st
41st r: p tog every 2nd, 3rd and 4th st = 12 st
Cut off the working yarn, use it to pull together the remaining st. Close the back seam as flat as possible and attach a pompon at the top of the hat.
Loop:
The loop is knitted in rounds. Cast on 140 st, close the round and knit 25 cm (= 36 rd) in the basic pattern. In the 37th rd, bind off all stitches straight, knitting the stitches as they appear. Carefully sew up all threads.
Abbreviations:
ri = right • le = left • st = stitch • r = row • rd = round • RSR = right-side row WSR = wrong-side row • est = edge stitch • rep. = repeat • k tog = knit together b.o. = bind off
