Instructions:
Back and Front:
are worked to the armhole in one piece.
Cast on 153 [181] sts (including 4 selvedge sts- 2 on each side) and work in half-brioche patt as given in stitch pattern beginning with rows 1-4 then rep rows 3-4 cont throughout. Work straight for 33 [35] cm ending with a WS row.
For the v-neck
Next row (row 100 [106]): make full-fashioned decs as given in stitch pattern section on both edges. = 149 [177] sts.
Rep these decs on the front edges in every foll 16th [14th] row 4 [6] times more.
When work meas 36 [38] cm (row 108 [114]) in the next WS row divide the work as foll for the armholes: 2 selvedge sts, 30 [37] sts in half-brioche st, 1 garter st selvedge, cast off next 7 [9] sts in patt, 1 garter st selvedge, 67 [77] sts in half-brioche st, 1 garter st selvedge, cast off next 7 [9] sts in patt, 1 garter st selvedge, 30 [37] sts in half-brioche st, 2 selvedge sts
Cont the right front first (= 33 [40] sts) and beg in row 116 [120] work the full-fashioned decs as given in row 100 [106] and in every foll 16th [14th] row 4 [6] times more. = 25 [28] sts.
At the same time in row 167 [183] (56 [61] cm total length) for the shoulder slope on the left edge of work in every alt row place 5 x 4 [5] M und 1 x 5 [3] sts on a holder.
Work the left front with shaping in reverse.
Then finish the back = 69 [79] sts working the stat between the garter selvedge sts in half-brioche patt as established until work meas 56 [61] cm then work the shoulder shaping on each edge in every alt row placing 6 [3] x 4 sts each and 0 [3] x 5 sts each side on holders. In the last WS row over the rem 21 [25] sts alt k1, p1 instead of half-brioche. Next row: cast off all sts k-wise.
Sleeves: (make two alike)
Cast on 31 [37] sts (including 2 selvedge sts) and work in half-brioche st with 1 garter selvedge st on each edge as given in stitch pattern beginning with rows 1-4 then rep rows 3-4 cont throughout. Work straight for 7 cm ( row 21). Next row: garter selvedge st, m1tbl, work in given patt to last st then m1tbl, garter selvedge st. = 33 [39] sts. Rep these incs every foll 8th row 14 [15] times more = 61 [69] sts. Work straight until row 149 [161] (total height 50 [54] cm) then in the next RS row cast off all sts in patt.
Making up:
Lay the front and back together with the insides facing out and join the shoulder seams by knitting the sts from each edge as k2tog and then casting off right away. Work 2nd shoulder in the same manner. Set in the sleeves and sew the sleeve seams together as flat as possible. Weave in ends.
