Selvedge st:
At beg of row k 1 tbl and at end of each row sl 1 k-wise wyif.
Tension:
21 sts and 23 rows to 10 cm measured slightly stretched over rib patt using size 5 mm needles or size needed to achieve given tension.
20 sts and 30 rows to 10 cm measured over patt mix (structure patt and half-fisherman’s rib) using size 5mm needles or size needed to achieve given tension.

Back:
Cast on 117 [125] sts (including 2 selvedge sts) and work in rib patt for cuff working 1st row as a WS row.
Cont straight in rib patt for 17 rows (8 cm) ending with a WS row.
Work in stitch pattern mix straight until work meas. 52 [54] cm total ending with a WS row.
For the shoulder shaping at the beg of next row and all foll rows (work dec on both sides) cast off 2 sts 16 [17] times then cast off rem 53 [57] sts once in patt.
Front:
Work as given for Back working bottom edge rib only 4cm in height and until 4 cm less have been worked than on Back to start of shoulder shaping ending with a WS row.
For the shoulder shaping and neck shaping when work meas. 48 [50] cm from cast on edge AT THE SAME TIME: cast off centre 23 [27] sts and work both side separately. For the neck shaping in every alt row at the neck edge cast off 4 sts once, 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st 6 times.
Sleeves: (work 2 alike)
Cast on 42 [48] sts and begin rib patt with a WS row. Work straight in rib patt with side shaping. incs. 1 st each side every 6th row 13 times (at beg of row after the selvedge st M1 tbl and at the end of the row M1 tbl before the selvedge sts working these new sts into the patt in the foll rows) = 68 [74] sts. Work straight until sleeve meas. total of 34 [36] cm (row 79 [83]) ending with a WS row.
Next row: Cast off 2 sts, work to end in established patt.
Next row: Cast off 2 sts, work to end in established patt.
Work these decs at the beg of every row 3 times more then cast off 3 sts at beg of next 14 rows. Then cast off rem 10 [16]sts once in patt.
Making up:
Close the shoulder seams using back stitch, or mattress stitch as preferred making sure to keep the seams flat and elastic. Sew in sleeves. Close side seams leaving a 4 [8] cm slit open at the bottom edge. For the turtleneck collar with right sides facing pick up and knit along the neck edges 140 [150] sts. Work 25 cm in rib patt so the right side of the patt shows when the collar is turned back. Then cast off all sts even in patt. and close seam.
