Required quantity:
Hat: ca. 100 g
Loop: ca. 200 g
Size:
Hat: Head circumference approx. 55 – 59 cm
Loop: length approx. 120 cm, height. 24 cm
Needle thickness: 9.0 – 10.0
Basic pattern: (number of stitches can be divided by 4 + 2 est)
1st r (= RSR.): 1 est, * 1 brioche stitch (= slip 1 yo purlwise), 3 st garter stitch, rep. from *, 1 est
2nd r (WSR): 1 est, * 3 st garter stitch, slip 1 yo purlwise, rep from *, 1 est
Rep. 1st and 2nd r.
Cuff pattern: (Number of stitches can be divided by 2)
RSR and WSR.: k 1, p 1 alternating
Edge stitches:
at the beginning of the row slip knitwise, at the end of the row knit stocking stitch
Tension sample(basic pattern):
10 st x 20 r = 10 cm x 10 cm
Pattern:
The hat is knitted open RSR and WSR. Cast 50 st and 2 est. Start with a WSR and knit 5 r in cuff pattern, then continue in the basic pattern with the following stitch arrangement: 1 est, 1 garter stitch, * 1 brioche stitch, 3 garter stitches, from * repeat 11 times, end with 1 brioche stitch, 1 est. In the 24th r from the basic pattern beginning start with the decreases in the RSR as follows, in the WSR knit acc. to pattern:
24th r: knit the 5th and 6th st (est included) and every further 7th and 8th st tog = 46 st
26th r: knit the 8th and 9th st and every further 6th and 7th st tog = 40 st
28th r: knit the 4th and 5th st and every further 5th and 6th st tog = 34 st
30th r: knit the 4th and 5th st and every further 5th and 6th st tog = 28 st
30th r: continue knitting stocking stitch (=RSR: k st, WSR: p st), knit the 4th and 5th st and every further 3rd and 4th st tog = 22 st
34th r: after the est always k 2 st tog = 12 st
Cut the working thread off and pull through st. Close the hat with as flat a seam as possible, sew on a pompon.
For the loop cast 21 st and 2 est and start with a WSR with the following stitch arrangement: 1 est, * p 2, 3 garter stitches, from * rep. 4x, end with p 1, 1 est. Then continue working in the basic pattern with the following stitch arrangement: 1 est, * 1 brioche stitch, 3 garter stitches, from * rep. 4x, end with 1 brioche stitch, 1 est. After ca. 120 cm ( = 237 r) bind off all st straight. Close the cast and bind-off side with a flat seam and carefully sew all threads.
Abbreviations:
