Collar pattern: (Stitch number divisible by 4)
in Rd.: alternately kn. 2 S ri and 2 S le
plain right:
in Rd.: only ri S
Stitch test:
plain right (needle 5.0 - 6.0): 17 s x 24 Rd. = 10 cm x 10 cm
Instructions:
Mittens:
right mittens:
Cast on 36 S with needle 4.0 - 5.0 and distribute over 4 needles of the needle set and close to Rd.
knt. 12 cm (= 28 Rd.) in collar pattern, then continue plain right with needle 5.0 - 6.0. The S of the 1st and 2nd needle form the inside of the glove, and the S of the 3rd and 4th needle form the outside.
For the thumb gusset in the 4th Rd., knt. from the start plain right, before and after the 2nd S of the 1st needle 1 S ri interlaced from the cross stitch. rpt. these pickups again 2 x in each 2nd Rd. and 1 x in the following 4 Rds, each time before or after the lasted picked up S. On the 1st needle, there are now 17 S (the first 9 S are the gusset stitches), now knt. another 2 Rds without pick ups.
In the following Rd., set down the 9 gusset stitches and cast on 3 S again for the thumb connector. Continue knt. in Rd, knt. tog. in the following 3 Rds these 3 connector stitches ri pulled over. (= lft 1 S ri, knt. tog. 2 S ri., pull over the lifted S) (= 36 S).
At about 14 cm (= 34 Rds) height, work the tip plain right from the start. For this, at the start, drop the 1st and 3rd needle as follows: knt. 1 S ri, lft. 1 S ri, knt. 1 S ri, pull lifted S over. At the end of the 2nd and 4th needle, knt. tog. the two penultimate S ri, knt. last S ri.
Rpt. these drops another 2 x in each 2nd Rd and 4 x in each Rd (= 8 S). Pull the remaining 8 S together with the working thread.
Thumbs: for the thumbs, pick up on the 9 set down S another 5 S from the thumb connector with needle 5.0 - 6.0 (= 14 S) and distribute these on 3 needles of the needle set and knt. approx. 5 cm (= 12 Rd.) plain right in Rd. Then always knit 2 M ri together for the thumb tip (= 7 S) and knt. 1 S ri in the following Rd. then knt. tog. 3 x 2 S ri. (= 4 M). Pull the remaining 4 S together with the working thread.
left mitten: knt. mirror-inverted
i.e. begin with the increments for the thumb gusset before and after the penultimate S of the 2nd needle.
Hat:
Cast on 84 S with needle 4.0 - 5.0 and distribute over 4 needles of the needle set and close to Rd. For the edge to yarn over, knt. 8 cm (= 20 Rd.) in the collar pattern. Continue working in the cross rib stitch with needle 5.0 - 6.0.
At approx. 14 cm (= 36 Rd.), end the hat plain right from the start cross ribs and drp. as follows:
37th Rd.: knt. tog. every 20th and 21st S ri together. (= 80 S)
38th Rd: mark every 10th S and knt. tog. with the previous S ri (= 72 S)
rpt. these drops another 2 x in each 2nd Rd. and then 4 x in each following Rd. (= 24 S)
In the next Rd. always knt. tog. 2 S ri (= 12 M).
Pull the remaining 12 S together with the working thread. (Tip: pull the working thread through the S several times so that no hole develops)
Sew the fleece bobble on to the hat.
