Quality
100 % cotton (mercerized, gazed, combed)
50 g / 125 m
Size: approx. 168 cm x 75 cm
Usage: approx. 400 g in col. 237 (green multicolour)
Needles: 1 pair of circular needles in size 3,0 - 4,0mm and 7,0 - 8,0mm or sizes needed to achieve given tension.
Pattern:
Lace pattern: (amount of sts multiple of 3 plus 2 plus 2 selvedge sts)
Note: you will switch needles every other row to create the correct tension.
Row 1: (RS using smaller needle size 3-4mm) selvedge st (sl 1 k-wise), k all sts to end of row.
Row 2: (WS using larger needle size 7-8mm) selvedge st (sl 1 p-wise), k1, p to last 2 sts then k1, selvedge st (k1).
Row 3: (using smaller needles) selvedge st, k1, * k3tog tbl leaving the knit tog sts on the left needle, yo, then k3tog tbl (once again out of the previous ktog sts) and then sl the sts from the left needle onto the right needle. Rep from * cont and end row with k2 (k1, selvedge st).
Row 4: (using larger needles) selvedge st, p all sts and yo until last 2 sts then k2 (k1, selvedge st).
Rep rows 1- 4 cont throughout.
Decreases: (in every RS row) selvedge st, k1, k3tog tbl, cont. in patt until 5 sts remain then k3tog, k1, selvedge st. In the 3rd row of lace patt when only 1 or 2 sts in the rep remain k the sts.
Selvedge stitches: sl 1 at beg of row and k1 at the end of the row.
Tension: 20 sts and 22 rows to 10 cm meas over lace pattern using different sized needles as given.
Instructions:
Start the triangle shawl along one of the long sides (= 168 cm). Cast on 334 sts (including 2 selvedge sts) and work 1 WS row of k sts to set up. Then cont in lace patt working the rep (= 3 sts) 110 times.
After the first 4 rows in the lace patt, beg with decs at the beg of every RS row on the both sides of the work (beg and end of rows = right and left working edges). Cont until only 6 sts rem (= 1 selvedge st, k1, 2 sts in lace patt, k1, 1 selvedge st) (= approx. 76 cm total height (= 170 rows)).
Next row: k3tog tbl ,k3tog then pass next 2 sts over the last st. Cut yarn and pull through sts. Weave in ends.
Fringe: cut 83 bundles of 3 lengths of yarn each 50 cm and knot through every 4th row of the shawl.
