left side of the scarf:
Cast on 57 st plus 2 est, and knit one wrong-side row. Continue knitting the cable pattern, see chart instructions. After a total length of approx. 68 cm (= 136 r), increase by 3 x 2 st in every 2nd r, and after that by 8 x 1 st in every 2nd r (= 73 st) at the right edge of the piece of work, for the head curve. Integrate the added st into the cable pattern (see chart instructions). After a total length of 104 cm (= 206 rows), end with a 6th pattern row, bind off the stitches as they appear.
right half of the scarf:
knit in a mirror-inverted way, i.e. knit the increase for the back head curve at the left edge of the piece of work.
Finishing:
Close the back seam of the hood after the end of the increases and the upper seam of the hood as flat as possible. Make 8 pompons with a diameter of 5.5 cm and 1 pompon with a diameter of 7 cm for the tip of the hood. Sew 4 pompons to each end of the scarf, and the larger pompon to the tip of the hood.
