Half Fisherman’s Rib Stitch: (amount of sts multiple of 2 plus 1 plus 2 selvedge sts)
WS rows: selvedge st, * sl 1 p-wise with yo tog, k1, rep from * and end row with sl 1 p-wise with yo tog, selvedge st.
RS rows: selvedge st, * k1 with yo tog, p1, rep from * and end row with k1 with yo tog, selvedge st.
These 2 rows establish the pattern. Rep cont. throughout.
Selvedge St:sl 1st k-wise at beg of row and k last st in each row.

Tip:
Begin allballs either from the outside or the inside. To achieve a harmonious colour effect be careful to use the same part of the colour repeat when beginning each piece.
Tension:
Jumper:24 sts and 46 rows to 10 cm meas. over half fisherman’s rib stitch using size 3,5 mm needles or size needed to achieve given tension.
Hat:34 sts and 36 rows to 10 cm meas. over unstretched rib stitch using size 3,5 mm dpns or size needed to achieve given tension.

Jumper:
Front:
Cast on 91 [101] sts (incl. 2 selvedge sts) and beginning with a WS row work 12 rows (3 cm) in ribbing and end with a RS row. Then cont. straight in half fisherman’s ribbing. For the armhole when work meas. 26 [29] cm (= 121 [135] rows) from ribbed edging (beg. of fisherman’s rib) dec. 7 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Cont. straight in pattern until work meas. 37 [41] cm (= 171 [189] R) ending with a WS row then work the neck opening.
Next row (RS): selvedge st, 26 [29] sts in pattern, place next 50 [57] sts on a holder and turn work.
Next row (WS): cast off 3 sts, work to end of row in patt. as established, selvedge st.
Next row and all foll. RS rows: work in patt. as established
Cast off 2 sts at beg of next 3 WS rows and at beg of the following WS row. Work straight until work meas. 37 [41] cm (= 171 [189] R) from ribbed edging (beg. of fisherman’s rib) then place the remaining 17 [20] sts on a holder.
Work the other shoulder and neck edge by working over the last 27 [30] sts from the holder and leaving the centre 23 [27] sts on hold.

Work the other shoulder and neck edge by working over the last 21 [24] sts from the holder and leaving the centre 35 [39] sts on hold.

Next row (RS): cast off 2 sts, work to end of row in patt. as established, selvedge st.
Cast off 1 st at beg of next 2 RS rows. Work straight until work meas. 37 [41] cm (= 171 [189] R) from ribbed edging (beg. of fisherman’s rib) then place the remaining 17 [20] sts on a holder.
Place Front and Back with wrong sides facing out and knit the two shoulders together by working k2tog (one st from front, one st from back holder) and casting off AT THE SAME TIME. Work 2nd shoulder same.
For the neck edging with right side facing and dpns pick up 110 [120] sts and work 3cm in rib patt. in rnds. then cast off alls sts k-wise.
Sleeves:
Cast on 45 [49] sts (incl. 2 selvedge sts) and beginning with a WS row work 12 rows (3 cm) in ribbing and end with a RS row. Then cont. in half fisherman’s ribbing working the side shaping in every alt. 8th and 10th [ every 10th] row (WS) 14 times inc 1 st each side next to the selvedge st. at beg and end of row M1tbl. working the new sts in pattern in the foll. row. = 73 [77] sts.
Work 2nd sleeve alike.
Set in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams as flat as possible using back stitch, or mattress stitch as preferred. Weave in ends.
Hat:
The hat is worked in rounds. Using double pointed needles, cast on 108 sts, placing 26 sts on 2 needles and 28 sts on other 2 needles. Place beg of rnd marker and join ready to work in the round.
Work in ribbing for 83 rnds. = 23 cm.
Next rnd: place markers at the 1st st and every foll. 12th st. ( = 13th, 25th, 37th, 49th, 61st, 73rd, 85th and 97th st).
Next rnd.: work the marked sts with the sts before as k2tog. = 99 sts.
Next rnd: work the sts as they appear in pattern.
Next rnd: work decs as established (at the markers) in every foll. 2nd. rnd 9 times more = 18 sts.
Next rnd: k2tog to end. = 9 sts.
Cut yarn. Thread through last sts a few times and pull taught.
Fold hat back approx. 7-8cm as shown in picture.
