Scarf:

Hat: (varying instructions for size L indicated in brackets)
The hat is knit in open rsr and wsr. Cast on 44 (48) st and 2 est with needle thickness 10, and k 5 cm (= 9 r) in the cuff pattern, start with a wsr. Then continue to work in basic pattern. At a total height of 15.5 (17) cm (= 25 (27) r), k 1 more rsr in the cable pattern and 1 wsr in the basic pattern. Then decr. between the est as follows:
28th (30th) r: always k tog. ri the 2 ri st (= 35 (38) st)
29th (31st) r: k the st as they appear
30th (32nd) r: always k tog. le the 2 le st (= 24 (26) st)
31st (33rd) r:  k the st as they appear
32nd (34th) r: always k tog. 2 ri st (= 13 (14) st)
33rd (35th) r: always k tog. 2 le st (including est), end with 1 le st (= 7 st)
Sew together these remaining 7 st with the current working thread. Close the rear seam flat. Make a pompom with a diameter of approx. 9 cm and sew it to the hat.
Scarf:
Cast on 24 st and 2 est with needle thickness 12 and k 11 r in the basic pattern, begin with a wsr. Now 160 cm (= 192 r) in the scarf sequence and then k 12 r in the basic pattern. Then c off the st, in the process k the st as they appear.
Headband:
Cast on 12 st and 2 est with needle thickness 10 and k 46 cm (= 68 r) in the scarf sequence. Then c off the st as they appear. Twist the band 1 x and sew together evenly at the back.
